In October 2008, Athens International Radio 104.4 FM was the driving force and host of the 1st European Cities Radio Forum which brought together radio professionals from across Europe.

The forum's main goal was to promote a platform for dialogue and the exchange of views on issues related to radio broadcasting. It was the first attempt to forming a framework of co-operation between European city radio stations.

Three days of conference concluded with the agreement to set up an internet meeting place under the name Euro Radio City.
